Young hero Nikhil is presently doing a tentatively titled film Mudhra which is the official remake of Tamil super hit Kanithan.TN Santosh who had directed the original version is directing the Telugu remake as well, while Tagore Madhu will be producing the film.Nikhil apparently is insisting that they rope in Lavanya Tripathi for the female lead role.
Dusky beauty Catherine Tresa, the leading lady in original Kanithan, was the first choice for Mudhra. But she was rejected as they feel she will not be suitable opposite Nikhil.Then, Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey and Nithin’s LIE and Chal Mohan Ranga heroine Megha Aakash too were considered for the film.Finally, Lavanya Tripathi has been finalized to play Nikhil’s romantic interest. Lavanya who had worked with many Tollywood heroes was the first choice for Nikhil.
Makers of Mudhra had no option other than accepting Nikhil’s plea. But the big question is why is Nikhil particular about casting Lavanya in his film?
