Most hyped film of Kannada actor Yash, KGF seems to be facing last minute troubles now. The movie’s release turned uncertain after Bengaluru civil court ordered an interim stay on the film’s release, just a day before the release. The movie is expected to hit the screens on Friday, worldwide.
The 10th additional chief Metropolitan magistrate court in Bengaluru ordered a stay against KGF release till the producers appear before the court and the next hearing of the case is dated for January 7th next year.
One Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale films and Lakshmi Narayana of Arya films are heard to have filed the petition against the release. Another petition from two persons A Yogesh and Ratan S, alleging that the KGF makers are trying to defame and malign the image of Kolar Goldfields with their film’s promotion. Their petition mainly objected the caption ‘from the streets of Mumbai to the bloody gold mines of Kolar, and they attached bloody gold mine posters from the film.
The same petitioner asked for a temporary injunction on the film’s release, claiming that the film is based on the life of rowdy Thangam that he owns the rights for that story.
Amid these petitions and court stay, the release of KGF remains uncertain for now, while a Bengaluru lawyer says that the producers can release the movie as they were not served the notice yet.
KGF is set for release in 400 theaters in Karnataka and more than 1500 screens worldwide on Friday, December 21.
