Action Against Prabhas’ farm house Is Illegal: HC

The actor who played a larger than life character Bahubali on screen “may have seen reel-life villains but not real-life villains” said the Division Bench at Telangana High Court while hearing the case on film actor Prabhas’ land that was seized by Telangana government officials. A division bench of Telangana High Court comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice P. Keshava Rao carefully listened to both versions of the case and gave its order.

After listening to Prabhas’ counsel on the case, the Court said that the action of Rangareddy district collector and other revenue officials on the land belonging to Prabhas is illegal. A senior counsel presenting Prabhas’ case said that “the land was purchased lawfully and made constructions in the said land. The owner had applied for regularisation of the land from the state government.”

However, the Special Counsel representing the Government of Telangana said that Prabhas has violated the law through dubious means. The Bench was quick to point out that the government could have first served interim orders and then taken action in case of no response. “Had it been a poor person, could he afford to spend on a legal battle?,” the Court reprimanded the government and reserved its order.
