The alliance between Congress party and TDP in Telangana assembly polls have given them some miserable results. Speaking on the same, former Congress legislator and Nalgonda’s senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had attributed their bad performance to ‘alliance with TDP’.
Referring to the partnership with Telugu Desam party, Mr Reddy said ‘collaborating with TDP has distanced our party from employees and youth of the state.’ Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan today, the senior Congress leader said he warned about the alliance with TDP ahead of assembly election but they did not pay heed to him. He further said that KCR was successful in convincing the voters that Chandrababu Naidu would gain prominence in Telangana if Congress comes to power.
Finally he went to predict the fate of Congress in upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He continued, “Even in the worst case scenario, I was expecting 45 seats for Congress in the assembly polls. I have met high command leaders and informed them that Congress will atleast win 7 parliament seats, if we fight the Lok Sabha battle independently without forming an alliance.”
