The Telugu version buyer of “Petta”, Ashok Vallabhaneni, who positioned himself as the producer of the film’s Telugu version, has finally put the film in the toughest position if trade reports are to be believed.
After this producer alleged that Dil Raju, Allu Arvind, and UV Creations are not giving him theatres, producer Dil Raju has shot back that there is a theatre shortage for the three Telugu films that are releasing this Sankranthi eve itself, so how could a dubbed movie get more theaters. Also, a rumor has that Dil Raju took Ashok’s blabber quite seriously and he has cut down even the slightest chance of giving a theatre to Petta.
Going by the number of theatres allotted so far, tomorrow (Jan 10) the film will be released in almost 55 theatres in Hyderabad including single screens and multiplex. On Jan 11th, as Vinaya Vidheya Rama is hitting cinemas, Petta got limited to 15+ theaters. And with F2: Fun and Frustration releasing on Jan 12th, Petta further got downsized to just 3 theatres in Hyderabad on its Day 3 of release.
Along with NTR, if VVR and F2 also get above-average to super hit talk, then Petta will not be getting any additional theatres for sure.
