‘Twitter CEO must appear before us within 15 days’

The CEO and other top executives of Twitter, fastest social networking site, has been summoned by the Indian parliamentary panel on Information Technology. Issuing an ultimatum to CEO Jack Dorsey over “safeguarding citizens rights on social/online news media”, the panel asked him to appear before it on February 25th.

The panel chairman and BJP parliament member Anurag Thakur said that Twitter CEO was given a deadline of 15 days. The top executives of Twitter gave a miss to the parliamentary panel meeting on February 11 but a few representatives have attended who explained: “We have informed the panel that it wouldn’t be possible for the global team from Twitter to travel from the US, given the short notice of the hearing.”

So, the 31-member parliamentary committee gave a new deadline and passed a resolution to not meet any officials from Twitter till the top brass from global team appears before them.
