Giving a strict warning to the Telugu Desam Party, BJP leader G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said that the party is collecting data from “voters illegally and indulging in deletion of voters by profiling them.” He alleged that the TDP is intruding the privacy of people by “stealing data and even going to the extent of finding out who is buying Sakshi newspaper.”
“Why is the government’s data given to a private company? You have been identifying voters and their identities and the parties they will vote for. Their caste details and other personal information has been gathered by your party. This is unfortunate as you do it through your surveys. You are now scared that your evil designs will be exposed and that’s why you, the ruling party, are scared,” he explained.
Calling for an investigation into the “data theft” case, GVL questioned AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Babu about how IT Grids was doing business from Hyderabad when it was working for TDP in AP. “If your son, Lokesh, is so successful in bringing IT investments as he claims, then why is this company still working for your party from Hyderabad?,” he asked, during a press meet in New Delhi.
“He claims that he created Cyberabad and brought IT investments to Hyderabad. Now, he also knows how to steal people’s data,” he said, making allegations on AP Chief Minister, appealing to the Election Commission to look into the matter seriously. As the TDP Chief, he is accusing Telangana government unnecessarily and he is politicising the issue, he said, adding that “it is not his personal data and it is with a company which could misuse this data.”
“If a neighbouring government is investigating a data theft case, you, Chandrababu, should be proud of it. Instead, he is unnecessarily making it AP Vs. Telangana issue. We are currently waiting and watching the developments closely. We will soon approach Election Commission as we are waiting for the notification to be out,” he stated.
Commenting on Pulwama attack, he said that the Opposition leaders including Chandrababu Naidu are acting as “sleeper cells” to Pakistan. “You are talking in favour of Pakistan and in favour of Imran Khan. We warn you that your political career will be over,” he warned, seeing out a strong signal to the anti-BJP leaders.
