TDP leader Mandava to join TRS

For over three decades former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao has served the Telugu Desam party. But for the last six months or so, he is staying away from party activities. The latest update about Mandava is, he is getting ready to join TRS party.

On Friday, TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR went to Mandava’s residence in Hyderabad and personally invited him to the party. KCR had also promised an important post in the coming days. As per highly placed sources, Mandava is heard to have said ‘YES’ to KCR’s invitation. In a day or two, Mandava is likely to join TRS.

This is a master stroke by KCR ahead of the Lok Sabha elections as Mandava is a well-known leader in Nizamabad district and has considerable following. Mandava had represented Jukkal assembly constituency four times and also worked as education minister in Chandrababu’s cabinet.
