Mythri Movie Makers tried to make a quickie with Pawan Kalyan as their advance of Rs. 5 crore was stuck with the Powerstar.
They were in a hurry to launch a movie with Pawan before he forayed into politics. They hired director Santosh Srinivas to work on a script based on Tamil hit Theri.
In spite of the fact that Theri was dubbed in Telugu, they went ahead with the plan of remaking it again with Pawan.
However, Pawan Kalyan got busy with his party activities and political campaign that the film never took off. Then they tried to rope in Raviteja for the same. But the idea was put on hold for a while after Amar Akbar Anthony bombed big time.
The news of Raviteja doing Theri remake resurfaced on media recently, but it has been scrapped by Mythri Movie Makers now. They are not willing to take a gamble by doing a commercial pot boiler with Raviteja at this juncture.
Mythri Movies is looking for solid scripts post the twin debacles they suffered in last November with Savyasachi and Amar Akbar Anthony.
Their latest films Chitralahari and Dear Comrade are due for release in April and May respectively.
