Officials skip AP Minister’s review meeting

The election model code of conduct is troubling the Andhra Pradesh government big time. Despite the code, agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said he will host a review meeting on agriculture on Tuesday. He also informed the concerned officials about the review meeting a week in advance.

The meeting was scheduled today at 11:30 AM at the minister’s office. Agriculture special secretary Rajasekhar and special commissioner Muralidhar Reddy knew about the review meeting and still they did not make it. Somireddy reached his office at 11 AM and waited nearly for three hours for the officials to come. With the officials not turning up, Somireddy left the office disappointed.

There is one more meeting scheduled by Somireddy tomorrow and it turns interesting whether officials will avoid this meeting too. Few days back, Somireddy has dared that he would resign to the ministry post if his review meeting is objected. To continue or not in the ministry post, Somireddy will decide tomorrow and if the officials do so like they did today, then he might certainly offer his resignation.

The code will be effective for another 23 days and TDP ministers are unable to do their day-to-day operations being powerless.
