Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi Crosses Rangasthalam?

Mahesh Babu’s fans are celebrating that “Maharshi” has now emerged as third highest-grossing movie ever in Nizam region crossing the record of blockbuster “Rangasthalam”.

The film apparently has collected Rs 28 Cr in its 19 days run.

Till now Ram Charan’s mega blockbuster “Rangasthalam” is holding the record as third-highest grosser in Nizam region with its Rs 27.7 Cr share. “Maharshi” has crossed this share by end of third Monday (May 27).

While Ram Charan’s fans are crying foul as the gross of “Maharshi” is lot lower than what “Rangasthalam” had collected, the trade pundits and Mahesh Babu’s fans argue that the share of “Maharshi” is bigger despite less gross than “Rangasthalam” due to the difference between GST rates.

When “Rangasthalam” was running in theaters, the GST rate was higher but later government has reduced the GST rate. So, “Maharshi” has got higher share.

But “Rangasthalam” still retains its all-time third hit position in all areas. The movie will not even cross Rs 100 Cr share in total where as the lifetime collection of “Rangasthalam” is about Rs 120 Cr.

“Maharshi” is also huge flop in Overseas and Ceded areas.
