The ruling TRS party which received back-to-back shocks in the recent times in the form of MLC elections (March) and followed by Lok Sabha results, got a relief. In the latest MLC polls, TRS has swept all of them and improved its strength in the council.
From joint Nalgonda, Warangal and Rangareddy districts Chinnapa Reddy, Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy & Patnam Mahendar Reddy have won as MLCs respectively. All the three candidates have won with a decent majority over Congress opponents. TRS working president KT Rama Rao has congratulated the winners and also the TRS cadre over this victory.
Meanwhile, this is a setback for Komatiredddy brothers who could not retain their MLC elections. Before the assembly elections, Komatireddy Rajagopal was an MLC and as he got elected as MLA, it resigned to MLC. With their influence, they managed to get a ticket to their own family member. Komatireddy Lakshmi lost to Chinnapa Reddy with 226 votes.
Also, we hear that KCR is likely to induct Patnam Mahendar Reddy in his cabinet and it will take time as KCR is looking at Huzurnagar by-elections.
