The counting for Maharashtra Assembly election is underway. Out of total 288 Assembly seats, the counting is being done at 234 seats of which BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is leading in 130 seats whereas Congress-NCP combine is leading in 66 seats while others are leading in 36 assembly seats. Since the majority mark is at 145, BJP-Shiv Sena combine have already crossed majority mark and is quite comfortable in forming the government.
In Haryana, Assembly election was held for 90 seats. As per the counting trends in 87 seats, BJP leads in 35 seats, whereas Congress leads in 32 seats and JJP in 10 seats and INLD in 2 seats and others in 8 seats. The majority mark is 46. Both BJP and Congress are fighting neck-to-neck. BJP’s Manohar Lal Khattar has a mixed track record in the past five years and this is clearly indicated in the results.

– Aaditya Thackeray leads by 11,000 votes from Worli constituency.
– Babita Phogat who contested on BJP ticket is leading in Haryana’s Dadri.
– AIMIM is leading with more than 5,000 votes in Malegaon.
– Former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh leading by 1606 votes in Pehowa. He contested on BJP ticket.
– NCP’s Ajit Pawar leads with 58,483 votes in Baramati.
– Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is leading by a margin of 8398 votes from Nagpur South-West Constituency.
– Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) contested in 101 seats. The party failed to get a lead in any of the constituencies.
– BJP candidate from Baroda and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt is trailing by 3590 vote.
– With hung in Haryana, BJP has called CM Khattar to Delhi. Amit Shah has called off his other appointments and is likely to talk with independent candidates of Haryana.
– Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala resigns as the party failed to get majority.
– Seven BJP ministers from Maharashtra are trailing.
– NCP’s Ajit Pawar wins in Baramati with over a lakh majority.
