Centre gives up on ‘Three Capitals’

The ‘Three Capitals’ row has touched New Delhi and the Centre has clarified that respective state governments’ are responsible and the decision completely lies with them on the capital city.

Taking the opportunity of the budget sessions, TDP MP Galla Jayadev posed a question to the Centre whether it has any information on ‘Three Capitals’ and what is the stand of government in New Delhi of shifting the current capital, Amaravati.

Ministry of Home Affairs MoS Nityanand Rai has sent a written reply to the TDP MP. “Amaravati was notified as AP capital in the year 2015 and the decision of capital city completely lies with the state government,” read the statement and it also added that the Centre has learned about the ‘Three Capitals’ from media but it cannot intervene in it.

Meanwhile farmers of Amaravati have landed in the national capital on Tuesday. They have met Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and have also sought the appointment of biggies of BJP government.
