After TSRTC, APSRTC hikes fares

In a bad news to the people of Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP government has hiked the bus fares of APSRTC.

Speaking on this minister Perni Nani said, after 2015 the bus fares were not hiked. But with fluctuating fuel prices, competition from private travel operators and other reasons, APSRTC is facing ₹1200/- crore losses every year and already the corporation is in ₹6735 crore debts. Increasing the bus fares is inevitable.

The minister further said the hikes will come into effective very soon and a date will be announced shortly.

For ‘Palle Velugu’ and City services the prices are hiked by 10 paisa per kilometre while for Indra bus service, the prices are up by Rs 1.45 per kilometre, for Garuda Rs 1.71 and for Amaravati service it is Rs 1.91 per km.
