Anil Ravipudi Explains How TV Folks Made Fun Of Pataas


As Mahesh Babu’s Sankranthi blockbuster Sarileru Neekevvaru turning out to be a 130 crores ‘share’ getter, definitely every star hero is now contemplating to work with director Anil Ravipudi. Sharing his thoughts in an interview, the director revealed how few folks try to affect negatively.

“When we are ready with the final copy of Pataas movie, we have shown that to many folks including these TV channel guys in order to sell the satellite rights. After watching the preview, those folks called the film as trash, saying that there are no proper elevation scenes and nothing fresh in the film. Kalyanram and I got totally scared with those comments” says Anil Ravipudi. So what happened later?

“We have shown the film to Dil Raju and his brother Sirish the very next day. Raju told that the film is going to become the biggest hit in Kalyanram’s career, and asked him to get ready for the release in a week. The rest is history” he added. The director asked cinema folks to not show films to those with exaggerated knowledge as their inputs will only spoil the show.

After starting in 2005 as an assistant director to his uncle Arun Prasad’s film Gowtham SSC, Anil Ravipudi turned ghostwriter and writer later, and eventually became a director with Kalyanram’s Pataas in 2015. Since then, there is no looking back.
