What happens if a hero owns the ‘hit’ film but not focuses on the story of his next? Recently young hero Karthikeya Reddy made tall claims about his stardom, fame and following and stated that he wants to reinvent his RX100 love-failure-guy image with Hippi. But what happened in the end?
Unable to find good bookings even on Sunday, owing to the bad talk around the film and also the India-Australia World Cup league match, ‘Hippi’ has sunk further. While RX100 made nearly 11 crores gross in its first weekend (four days), Hippi is hardly able to make half of that. Produced at an exaggerated cost, the film is going to end up as a huge commercial disaster.
That brings us to the point, what is the takeaway for Karthikeya from this result. Rather focusing on changing his image to something new, or building stardom for him, first he needs to choose the right script and directors such that he will create a box office potential for him. After becoming a star, he could focus on changing his image. Hope Hippi result cleared all the clouds in his head!
