CRPF jawan accidentally kills self outside Ambani’s residence

A 31-year-old CRPF personnel named Devdan Bakotra, who was posted outside the plush bungalow of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai killed himself due to accidental shooting. The news has been confirmed by higher officials on Thursday and the deceased Devdan Bakotra belonged to Junagadh in Gujarat.

Unfortunate that the personnel stumbled and fell down on the ground which caused his rifle to fire. The horrific incident took place around 7 pm on Wednesday at the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) security post outside Mr Ambani’s 27-storey bungalow ‘Antilia’ off Pedar Road. It is reported that Bakotra had two bullet injuries in the chest.

In spite of rushing to a nearby hospital, the treatment was of no use. Bakotra’s body was handed over to his family after an autopsy and a case of accidental death was registered at the Gamdevi police station. Also, the investigation is under process. However, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajiv Jain said that “It was accidental firing. It does not appear to be a suicide.”
