It looks like AP Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has again took U-Turn and developed a soft-corner on the party’s former ally, Jana Sena Party. Soon after the TDP broke off its ties with the BJP, the Telugu Desam Party refrained from making any criticism of Pawan Kalyan or Jana Sena despite a slew of attacks from the Jana Sena leaders and supporters.
Following this, Pawan Kalyan increased his pitch against AP Chief Minister and the TDP and even made statements during his public rallies that he would ensure that every leader is accountable to people. Pawan also went a step ahead and warned the TDP leaders that if they are not accountable for their actions, they would meet a bad fate.
Come new year which is also the year of Assembly elections, Jana Sena’s pitch against the TDP seems to have softened. The TDP also a similar stance and has been following the same mantra. Of late, there have been rumours that Jana Sena is considering to get TDP’s support in the wake of being abandoned by BJP and not being interested in tying up the YSR Congress, after a war of words between Pawan and Jagan.
Amidst this speculation, Chandrababu had made a statement inviting Jana Sena to partner with TDP, in response to Jagan’s remarks that Pawan and Chandrababu are allies. Following this statement, the TDP chief has increased his pitch against BJP, TRS and YSR Congress, calling the other two parties as BJP’s cohorts and Modi’s messengers (KCR and Jagan). Cleverly, Chandrababu has kept Pawan out of this trio and is not targeting the Jana Sena anymore.
Political observers say that this could be Chandrababu’s strategy to attract Jana Sena to TDP and form a pre-poll alliance with the party. This could also be a double bonanza for the TDP as Kapus would stay with Jana Sena and seal the winning prospects for the Yellow Party. So, what exactly is Chandrababu upto? Will Jana Sena ally with the TDP once again just like in 2014 elections or go alone and choose a post-poll alliance? The fast-changing political developments may have an answer.
