ED To Return 749 Cr worth assets To Jagan

In a big relief to CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife YS Bharati, the anti-money laundering tribunal has directed the Enforcement Directorate to return the attached assets worth over Rs 749 Crore related to Jagan, wife Bharati and others. The tribunal found fault with the ED in the issue of attaching Jagan and his relatives assets.

These attached properties are spread across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. They include Lotus Pond residence, Sakshi Head Office in Banjara Hills, Commerce Minister Bungalow in Bangalore, and shares in several companies. With the tribunal’s fresh order, the ED is likely to release the attached properties. This is seen as a big blow to the ED that attached the said properties in December 2016.

The ED had attached movable (Rs 404,72,32,182) and immovable properties (Rs 344,38,10,378) totally valued at Rs 749.10 crore under PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) in Dec 2016.
