Evaru Vs Badla: Regina Beats Taapsee!

More than the Hindi version of ‘The Invisible Guest’, ‘Badla’ features Taapsee Pannu in the main lead role, the Telugu version ‘Evaru’ that has Regina Cassandra in the lead role is working out well at theatres. Also, Regina got more hype and hoopla than what Taapsee got from her work. Wonder why?

It is not about Regina performing extra-ordinarily than Taapsee as both are equally talented heroines only. Actually, in “Badla”, there is only the murder element that is shown a couple of times but there is no scope for glamour. However, in “Evaru” we have Regina putting up a glamorous angle to as the main element is ‘sexual abuse and forced sex’ followed by murder.

It looks like director Venkat Ramji of Evaru got things right as he induced glamour through Regina’s character quite skillfully. That is holding both masses and class audiences to the galleries. If an edge of the seat thriller gots blended with glamour, the magic will be weaved upon the silver screen. And that’s what happened with Regina, which was missing in Taapsee’s version.
