Hindi people in AP vote for TDP: Kejriwal

It is a well-know fact the AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu knows how to use his political friends and acquaintances at the right moment. While the Mahaghatbandhan of all anti-BJP parties is keeping low in this election season, Chandrababu has chalked out a plan to line up these leaders from regional parties for his campaigns in the state. Starting with Farooq Abdullah of National Conference, he ensured that Farooq spoke to Muslims and sought their votes for TDP while criticizing Jagan.

Now, to focus on the Hindi-speaking people in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu has invited Aam Aadmi Party founder and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for another campaign of his. Apparently, the idea is to seek the votes of North Indians living in Andhra Pradesh. Some urban pockets of the state have several Hindi-speaking people and the TDP has targeted this vote bank with Kejriwal’s entry today.

Come April 2nd and Andhra Pradesh will see West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Chief Mamatha Banerjee campaigning for the TDP in Visakhapatnam, which has a significant population of Bengali migrants. Meanwhile, DMK’s Stalin is also set to campaign for Chandrababu in the coming weeks in constituencies bordering AP and Tamil Nadu, which will have crucial number of Tamil migrants.

Other leaders such as Deve Gowda, Yashwanth Sinha, Arun Shourie too will be part of TDP’s campaigns and roadshows in Andhra Pradesh. Political observers say that it is a smart move to get regional leaders and target those communities.
