If there have been two leaders who have left their indelible mark on Telugu people of nearly two generations, then it is surely late NTR and then it was late YSR.Call it coincidence or plain planning, but biopics of both leaders will hit the screens in 2019.The shooting of the films will also be done simultaneously. Another coincidence is that both the films will highlight particular phases in the lives of both leaders.
In NTR’s biopic, the early times and life of actor-politician will be shown. His immense popularity following Chaitanya Yatra will be a major episode and the film will end with he becoming the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.The film will not have the Nadendla episode, Lakshmi Parvathi’s entry into his life and following incidents and even Babu episode.
Similarly, in YSR’s biopic, the time from when he took up padayatra to his becoming the CM will be highlighted.And it is during this time, that some scenes with family and other such incidents will be woven into the screenplay. But the film will not show he winning elections for the second time and his death in an unexpected accident.
So, to sum it up, while both films will talk about a particular time in the lives of both leaders, they cannot be labelled biopics.
