The High Court has transferred the murder attempt case on YS Jagan to National Investigation Agency (NIA). Based on the petition filed by YSR Congress leaders, the court has heard the arguments on Friday.
Lawyers on behalf of YSRCP argued that Andhra Pradesh government isn’t probing this case properly and delay in investigation may result in no justice. After hearing, the court opined that as the incident took place inside the Visakhapatnam airport which comes under central government’s surveillance zone, NIA has all rights to take up the case.
However well before the High Court’s decision, the centre has sent directives to NIA regarding the same case which is quite surprising. A complaint has been lodged at NIA’s Hyderabad zone on January 1st based on CISF assistant commando’s complaint.
The Andhra Pradesh government has brought this to the notice of High Court as well and is also in thoughts of going to the Supreme Court over HC’s decision.
Jagan was attacked on October 25th in Vizag airport lounge. The suspect has been detained by the cops and ever since then the police are thoroughly investigating the case.
