For the second time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP has won it big at the elections as they got a thumping 300+ seats all alone, such that there is no need to bow to allies when it comes to governance. While Modi is a super hit, it looks like Modi’s story isn’t.
Last Friday, we have seen director Omung Kumar’s “PM Narendra Modi”, a biopic based on the story of our prime minister, has hit cinemas. Featuring Vivek Oberoi in the role of Modi, the film failed to attract Modi’s voters in the least, as it collected a meagre 11.7+ crores nett in the first weekend.
Somehow, people are not getting connected to sugar coated biopics of big netas and another recent example is how NTR biopic Kathanyakudu and Mahanayakudu have failed at the box office. Despite the fact that NT Rama Rao has such charisma and history, his story hasn’t attracted the masses. And it looks like Modi biopic just joined the race.
However, sports biopics like Bhaag Milka Bhaag and MS Dhoni: An Untold Story, have worked out big time.
