Nandyal By-election: Silpa Nomination Invalid?

If latest reports are anything to go by, the nomination of YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy is allegedly invalid. TDP leaders have been alleging that Silpa’s nomination doesn’t valid as it ‘flouted’ Election Commission rules. As per TDP leaders, the notary who provided B Form to Silpa Mohan Reddy is advocate Rama Tulasi Reddy whose notary license got allegedly expired in 2013 December. The concerned documents have been submitted to Returning Officer and District Collector by TDP leaders.

TDP leaders have also accused Silpa Mohan Reddy of not submitting Judicial Stamp Papers which are crucial. The EC is now examining the TDP’s complaint closely. CEC Bhanwarlal is said to be discussing the same with high-level experts.

Although Silpa Mohan Reddy has got his son filed a dummy nomination on his name, even the same B Form has notary by the same advocate Rama Tulasi Reddy whose notary license is allegedly expired. Earlier in 2009, one Kadiri Babu Rai had faced similar situation and his nomination was then cancelled by the Election Commission. Political analysts are now analyzing that same could be repeated. This is now keeping YSRCP leaders on the tenterhooks. Silpa brothers and YSRCP president YS Jagan are reportedly very tensed due to this unexpected situation. Since Jagan & Silpa brothers considering this as crucial election, the ongoing condition is giving a sleepless nights to them.

On other hand, YSRCP leaders have also complained to the EC seeking cancellation of the nomination of TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy alleging that he has not submitted the IT returns.

Meanwhile, EC is thoroughly going through the nomination process. It is expected to make a crucial announcement soon.
