NASA Finds Vikram, Releases Pictures

The exact location of Chandrayaan 2 lander – Vikram – on lunar surface has been found by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration). The traces of Vikram has been discovered by NASA which also released the pictures. The NASA has identified the location on lunar surface that was affected by the Vikram’s crash landing.

It found that the Vikram’s traces were shattered around a few kilometres and identified around 24 locations. NASA announced that Shanmugha Subramanyan was the first person who found the first trace of Vikram lander. He found the first trace at about 750 metres from the Vikram’s crash landing site. The NASA had taken the pictures on October 14,15 and November 11.

India’s Chandrayaan 2 is World’s first attempt to launch satellite on Moon’s South Pole. Vikram was supposed to have a safe landing on Moon’s south pole at about 1.53 AM on September 7 and the whole India and world was watching the prestigious moment. However, slight deviation from intended trajectory just about three minutes before the expected landing i.e 2.1 kms from Moon’s surface led to have a crash landing.
