After winning the prestigious BWF World Championships, PV Sindhu met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today. KCR assured that his government would support and provide all indispensable assistance to PV Sindhu for her future endeavours in the sport. The Chief Minister also praised Hyderabad academies for producing many talented sportspersons among future generations.
On Sindhu’s tremendous victory, KCR congratulated her and expressed his contentment for bringing name and fame to the nation. Also, Sindhu presented two of her pro-racquets to the Chief Minister which symbolizes her passion, magnanimity, and gratefulness. PV Sindhu stands as the first Indian to win the World Badminton Championships. It is indeed a proud moment when the national flag was hoisted on the International platform.
KCR felicitated Sindhu at Pragathi Bhavan with a traditional shawl and a flower bouquet and labelled her as the pride of the country. During his speech, the CM emphasized her playing prowess and how she instils perseverance, dedication and devotion towards badminton. He also said that such a magnificent victory is possible only through hours of practice and hard work.
He later went on to praise and appreciate Sindhu’s parents and coach Gopichand for bringing the best out of the player. While felicitating her, apart from Sindhu’s parents and Gopichand, Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud, Sports Authority Chairman Venkateshwar Reddy, DGP Mahender Reddy and Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar graced the occasion.
