Other day with Dangal fame actress Zaira Wasim has issued a shocking statement saying that she’s exiting films as they are like a hurdle between her and her religion. The moment she came up with that tweet, though some defended her, many from her own community slammed her thoughts.
However, none has attacked so directly, but there is senior heroine Raveena Tandon who called her moves as ‘regressive’ in a cryptic tweet. This is because none would have bothered if Zaira left films, but she gave a big lecture through religion about ‘good way of life’. Raveena’s tweet read, “Doesn’t matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves (sic)”.
Zaira has actually starred in Dangal and Secret Superstar, while her next film ‘The Sky is Pink’ is getting ready for a release. At this time, her exit from films became talking about not because she would not be promoting her new movie, but because of attaching faith to it. Quitting films on religions reason is her personal affair, but putting it on social media and making it a huge public drama would be an insult to many other actresses out there who are from her own faith.
