While Samantha has scaled Tirumala hills by foot, her fans and other movie lovers are also waiting with bated breath to see “Majili” film score a brownie at the box office. Also, the success of this film will open new avenues, and some old school reintroduction, in our films.
Actually, the old school topic of ‘wives’ saving families is a washed out genre (or theme) from the Telugu movies. From Subhalagnam to Kshamanga Velli Labamga Randi, there are many such movies where wives run the whole story of a movie. But these days, there are no such stories coming from Tollywood.
Except for certain movies like Pellaina Kothalo and others, there are not many husband-wife drama stories that we have seen recently. And now if Majili scores a success, surely that will revive the idea of wives leading the story in Tollywood’s fold. Because this film deals with how a wife has won back her husband who has sought a divorce from her.
Directed by Siva Nirvana, Majili is actually hitting cinemas on April 5th. The film features Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, the real-life couple, as the leading actors.
