Koratala Siva directed “Bharat Ane Nenu” is primarily copied from “The American President”.Critics pointed out that Allu Arjun’s recently released “Naa Peru Surya” is mix of “Antwon Fisher” and “Prahaar”.These are just examples from this year’s movies; we can dig hundreds of such copycat projects.
The latest speculation is that Sudheer Babu and Aditi Rao starrer forthcoming release “Sammohanam” is rehashed version of British romantic drama “Notting Hill”.Going by the trailer of “Sammohanam”, the movie’s plot – a movie star falling in love with an ordinary boy – is almost similar to that of “Notting Hill”.
However, director Indraganti Mohan Krishna has denied that he took the inspiration from this Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts starrer.He tweeted: “Some people and sections of the media are speculating if ‘Sammohanam’ is a ‘freemake’ of ‘Notting Hill’. As a filmmaker who has never failed to credit inspirations and sources, I find the assumption insulting and arrogant.”
We can only know the truth after the release of “Sammohanam”.
