TDP’s ‘Sand Protest’ Turns Flop

The opposition TDP has staged a protest in West Godavari against ‘Sand Crisis’ in the state. However this protest got a lukewarm response and turned into a big flop.

The YSRCP government is set to introduce the new sand policy on September 5th and ahead of it, an artificial crisis situation occurred all over the state. Taking this as an opportunity, TDP tried to corner the ruling party and appealed to all the party leaders to come to the protest. But the police have made preventive detentions forehand and made sure not many leaders attended the protest.

It was only TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh who was the noted person among the agitators. But as Lokesh lacks a mass public image, people did not show much interest and so did the media which did not give much importance to cover it.

Initially TDP wanted to give at least three months time to react on YSRCP government. But now they don’t want to waste any time as YSRCP is constantly throwing the blame on TDP for its every action. So TDP went ahead with its ‘Sand Protest’ today and could not even manage to pull their own cadre which is embarrassing.
