In a sensational decision on Wednesday (today), the Telangana state government has decided to handover the ‘TDP data theft App” case registered in Hyderabad to Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The move assumed political significance in the backdrop of TDP chief and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu and his son, IT minister Lokesh facing allegations of allowing a private firm “IT Grids” to steal personal and confidential data of AP public for TDP’s electoral gains in upcoming AP Assembly polls.
The TS government decided to constitute SIT for the speedy investigation of the case and book culprits involved in the data theft scam.
The SIT will be headed by West Zone IG Stephen Ravindra and will comprise of 9 police officials including Kamareddy SPN Swetha, Cyberabad DCP (Crimes) Rohini Priyadarshini, Cyberabad DSP (cyber crimes) Ravi Kumar Reddy, Madhapur ACP Shyam Prasad Rao, CCS (cyber crimes) inspector B Ramesh etc.
The government directed commissionerates of Hyderabad and Cyberabad to handover all the investigation details pertaining to this case to SIT immediately.
The government has provided a separate chamber for SIT in Telangana DGP’s office.
Speculations are rife that TS government wants to speed up the investigation into the case and book the culprits before upcoming polls causing huge embarrassment and trouble to TDP.
