Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 151st film is getting ready for a roll out from coming August month. It took nearly a year for writers Paruchuri Brothers to prepare the story of this film tentatively titled “Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy”. And the big thing they are worried about is the similarity of this story with yet another Indian rebellion, who’s considered as a great leader by Tamilians.
Actually Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy is a rebel who advocated his anti-British philosophy in Seema area of Andhra Pradesh. He was betrayed by his own men, caught in Nallamala forest and got hanged to death. Later his head was hung from fort wall for 30 years as British wanted to terrorise any Indian thinking about rebellion back then. And now, we have a film similar to the same story. It’s none other than Tamilian Kattabomman’s story.
Veera Pandya Katta Bomman is one fierce military governor appointed by the Nayaka kings in Tamilnadu in 1790. He’s famous for refusing British rule and then got betrayed by his own men. After fifteen days of interrogation, Britishers have hanged him to death. There are several stories and folk songs that describe the greatness of this noble man and even films have also come.
As the two stories are pretty close, Paruchuri Brothers, director Surender Reddy and another group of writers have found out some new details which make Uyyalawada film different from Kattabomman’s story. We have to find that out on silver screen!!
