Forget about the commercial success and failure of his films, but always Ram Gopal Varma’s filmy adventures continue interesting musical elements. The likes of Ilayaraja and AR Rahman scored extraordinary music for his movies. And many times they say that Varma has such a good musical taste.
And now, Varma, who is banking more on sensationalism than the actual content, is coming up with the movie “Lakshmi’s NTR”, which happens to be another biopic of legendary NTR. And expectations are that this movie will have terrific music in the lines of a Rakta Charitra. As the first song ‘Vennu Potu’ got released today, many are retracting their expectations.
Neither the song is catchy like those Rakta Charitra songs, nor they have any interesting lyrics that one could easily feel the punch of them. We have to say that music composer Kalyani Malik who has some good films to his credit like Ala Modalaindi and others, has completely disappointed. Definitely, this is a ‘vennu potu’ to audiences who are expecting wonderful music from Lakshmi’s NTR.
Some say that Kalyani Malik is a composer known for his melodies in romantic movies and there is no way he could do justice to this film. Few felt that Varma lost that Midas touch of extracting fine quality work from technicians due to his excess obsession towards sensationalizing things.
