As announced earlier, maverick and sensational film maker Ram Gopal Varma released the first look of his “Vennu Potu” song from his forthcoming film “Laxmi’s NTR” at 4 pm on Friday.
Obviously, Varma has chosen two occasions to release the song on Friday: first, it is on the same day, the audio of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film “NTR-Katha Nayakudu” is being launched.
Secondly, it happens to be the birthday of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who is waging a pitched battle against NTR’s son-in-law and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Varma’s “Vennu Potu” song is a direct attack on Chandrababu Naidu, who had faced the allegations of “backstabbing” NTR to come to power in September 1995.
And the song is mind-blowing. Penned by Sira Sri and composed by Kalyani Malik, the Vennu Potu song explains in detail how legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao had become a victim of backstabbing politics of Chandrababu Naidu, conspiracies hatched by Naidu and his infamous gang of four, the Viceroy Hotel drama that caused a traumatic experience to NTR and even ditching of NTR by his own sons and daughters.
Varma did not use the imaginary pictures of this whole drama. He used the pictures of real NTR, Chandrababu Naidu, Lakshmi Parvathi, Daggubati, Balakrishna and Harikrishna etc.
As the song is played, the images of old pictures of these leaders are shown in the backdrop.
And Varma did not stop with that. In the introductory video of the song, Varma was found explaining that his picture was the factual representation of the incidents that happened in the life of NTR and Lakshmi Parvathi.
“Balakrishna might be having several stars and big actors in his film, but I have the facts with me. The actors in your film might not be aware of the real life incidents of NTR, but my film depicts only facts and truths, nothing else,” he said.
The film is slated for the grand release in February 2019. The film is being presented by GV Films along with YSRC leader Rakesh Reddy, who is producing the film.
