
Rajamouli’s epic drama “Baahubali2” had shattered all box-office records at Indian box-office. It has also become all-time second biggest hit among Indian movies with the worldwide gross of Rs1680 cr.
On Sunday (October 8), the film also debuted on Television with its Worldwide Television Premiere. Will it also set record in TV viewership?
The first part of ‘Baahubali’ holds record as the most viewed Telugu film on Telugu small screen with whopping 23 TVR points. This is so far number one movie on Telugu screen after the introduction of BARC viewership ratings (earlier TAM system).
In TAM system, “Sri Ramadasu” and “Magadheera” top the viewership ratings but in the BARC system, “Baahubali” is the most-viewed movie.
Now comes the question: Will “Baahubali 2” shatter this record? The Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam versions of “Baahubali 2” are already available on Netflix.
STAR Group has bagged satellite rights for the movie in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages. The Telugu version was bagged by Star Maa TV for Rs 16 Cr (29 Cr for first and second part together).
