No incumbent Chief Minister of Karnataka has ever won again in the continuing elections since 1985. This has been the practice for 33-long years in the state of Karnataka. However, the ruling CM Siddharamaiah pledges to break that history and vows to rewrite a new history. Going by the current political trends, in fact, Sidhu has fair chances to reoccupy the throne of Karnataka.
Be it strong support from people or the rigorous political campaign and a spree of punch liners by Sidhu against Narendra Modi and BJP’s CM candidate Yedyurappa, Reddy brothers have all created huge buzz surrounding Siddharamaiah. Although hefty leaders of Congress and BJP such as Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath have rallied, the battle is clearly between Siddharamaiah and Narendra Modi.
The moot question is will Sidhu rewrite the history.
