YS Jagan Seeks Sharmilamma’s Help

What could be YSR Congress Party’s last leg of campaign and could garner crucial vote bank for the party is the “Bus Yatra” to be undertaken by Y.S. Sharmila, sister of YSR Congress Chief Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy. The Bus Yatra will begin tomorrow and cover the capital region including six constituencies such as Mangalagiri, Guntur West, Tadikonda, Guntur East, Padkurapadu as well as Narsaraopet.

Sharmila’s Yatra in Mangalagiri where TDP’s Nara Lokesh will contest from, will be watched carefully. Given that it is Lokesh’s first time, Sharmila could highlight the possible gaffes of the IT minister along with TDP’s missteps to ensure that YSRCP’s Alla Ramakrishna Reddy retain the assembly seat this time too, against the Chief Minister’s son.

Additionally, Jagan’s mother, Y.S Vijayamma will campaign in Srikakulam and Pulivendula along with other constituencies in Kadapa district. Both Sharmila and Vijayamma are set to build a narrative about Vivekananda Reddy’s murder and the TDP’s alleged role in it. The YSR Congress Party wants to bank on this issue that has turned up the election heat to garner votes along with the Navratnalu declared in the party manifesto.

Sharmila took up a Padayatra for over 3000 kilometres after Jagan was arrested and sent to jail in the disproportionate assets case. Additionally, Vijayamma too campaign for a candidate for the 2012 by-polls when Jagan was still in prison. Political observers point out that this high-high-folate campaign by Sharmila and Vijayamma could bring considerable goodwill to the YSR Congress Party at such a crucial time.
