Hours before YSRCP chief and opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s last day of Praja Porata Yatra, the senior leader of party and brother of Superstar Krishna-Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao is likely to announce his resignation from the party, citing the internal issues in the party.
Adiseshagiri Rao, who had maintained a great association with late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Jagan, exiting YSRCP is a big shock to the party supporters and cadre ahead of 2019 assembly polls. While Mr. Rao did not state his future plans, he is likely to join the TDP.
The denial of Guntur MP ticket to Rao by Jagan is said to be the primary reason for his exit from the YSRCP. While Rao has reportedly asked Jagan for Guntur MP seat, the latter is said to have offered Vijayawada parliament seat, which he is not keen about. Knowing the news of Adiseshagiri Rao’s exit, senior leaders from the party have stepped in to convince him and see that he doesn’t slip away.
