Netflix is stepping into the Telugu originals space with Super Subbu, a light-hearted entertainer starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead, directed by Mallik Ram.

Produced by Rajiv Chilaka and Bharath Laxmipati under Chilaka Productions, the series is set for a grand premiere on Netflix on July 2.

The makers recently unveiled the trailer, offering a glimpse into the unusual journey of Subramanyam Chillukuri Rao, fondly called Subbu. A simple, sincere young man with modest dreams, Subbu unexpectedly finds himself appointed as a sex education officer in the village of Maakipur—an assignment he is completely unprepared for.

What begins as a routine posting soon turns into a chaotic ride filled with awkward situations, unexpected lessons, and eye-opening experiences. As villagers challenge his views on relationships, responsibility, and communication, Subbu is also forced to confront his own fears and ambitions.

Blending humour with meaningful discussions on consent, awareness, and social taboos, the series promises both entertainment and a strong message.

Sundeep Kishan shines in a refreshing comedic role, with impressive timing and charm. The ensemble cast also includes Mithila Palkar, Murali Sharma, Brahmanandam, Getup Srinu, Maanasa Choudhary, and Jeevan in key roles.

Speaking about the project, Sundeep Kishan shared that Super Subbu is a fun entertainer that addresses a rarely discussed subject with humour and heart, adding that Subbu’s innocence and good intentions often land him in unexpected trouble.

The trailer has already sparked curiosity, raising expectations for a witty yet meaningful series that marks Netflix’s first Telugu original, poised to connect strongly with audiences.
