Speculation is growing over a possible revamp of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political strategy ahead of the 2029 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. While there is no official confirmation, social media discussions suggest that the former chief minister may be exploring new options to strengthen the party’s election machinery.
Jagan had previously partnered with political strategist Prashant Kishor and his team during the 2019 Assembly elections, a campaign that resulted in a landslide victory for the YSRCP. However, the association ended later, and the party subsequently worked with the IPAC team for the 2024 elections. Following the defeat, several YSRCP leaders reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the campaign strategy and publicly questioned IPAC’s role.
According to recent political buzz, the YSRCP leadership is now believed to be considering Kapil Sahu, who is said to have played a key role in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s successful 2026 election campaign. Reports claim that preliminary discussions may have taken place regarding a possible collaboration for the 2029 Andhra Pradesh elections, although neither side has confirmed these claims.
Political observers note that if Kapil Sahu indeed played a significant role in Vijay’s campaign, his experience could prove valuable for any future election strategy. With nearly three years remaining before the next Assembly polls, the YSRCP has ample time to reassess its campaign structure and make strategic changes if required.
That said, the reports remain purely speculative at this stage. Jagan is known for making major political decisions after careful evaluation, and there has been no official statement from the YSRCP regarding a change in its election strategy or the appointment of a new political consultant. Until an announcement is made, the possibility of Kapil Sahu joining the YSRCP’s campaign team remains a matter of political speculation.
