Actress Kajal Aggarwal is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film The India Story, which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 24, 2026. The film marks a departure from her usual glamorous roles, with Kajal taking on a more serious, content-driven character alongside Shreyas Talpade.

Speaking about her choice of roles, Kajal revealed that motherhood has significantly influenced her perspective, both personally and professionally. She said becoming a mother has made her more conscious about the kind of stories she wants to be part of.

According to Kajal, The India Story revolves around the food people consume in their daily lives, a subject that resonates deeply with her as a parent.

“Being a mother, I’m extremely careful about what my son and family eat every day. When this script came to me, I immediately connected with its message and didn’t hesitate to say yes,” she explained.

The actress also shared that she is no longer interested in signing multiple films every year. Instead of working on eight or nine projects annually, Kajal said she prefers to focus on three or four meaningful films that offer strong, character-driven roles.

She is also set to appear in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film directed by Gopichand Malineni, where she will be seen in another performance-oriented role.

After establishing herself as one of South India’s leading commercial heroines, Kajal now seems determined to embrace more mature and content-oriented characters. With The India Story and several promising projects in the pipeline, the actress is entering a new phase of her career, where meaningful storytelling has taken precedence over routine commercial entertainers.
