A city court has re-issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against multi-lingual actor Prakash Raj in connection with a case alleging that his name appears in multiple electoral rolls across three states, including Karnataka.

The order was issued on June 12 based on a petition filed by city-based advocate K. Dilip Kumar. This marks the third time an NBW has been issued against the actor in the same case.

According to court records, the first summons was issued on February 17, 2026, through the Commissioner of Police. However, the actor was reportedly not found at the address mentioned in the petition.

Following his non-appearance, the court issued the first NBW on March 17, observing that the accused had vacated the residence and was absent during the hearing. The matter was later adjourned to April 17, but Prakash Raj did not appear, leading to a re-issuance of the warrant. A third NBW was issued on June 12, 2026, after procedural delays, with the next hearing scheduled for July 25, 2026.

The case originates from allegations linked to the actor’s candidature in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the Bengaluru Central constituency. The complainant alleged that Prakash Raj’s name was registered in multiple electoral rolls, including locations in Bengaluru, Chennai (Velachery constituency), and Telangana (Serilingampally constituency).

The petitioner had initially approached the police in 2019, but claimed no action was taken, following which the matter was escalated to court in 2023. The court later took cognizance of offences under Sections 31 and 125(A) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and issued summons.

Since the actor did not appear despite repeated summons, the court has now re-issued non-bailable warrants in the case.
