Senior actress Laya has opened up about her personal life, parenting journey, and life in the United States during a recent interview. Her candid comments have since gone viral on social media, with many appreciating her honesty and her efforts to keep her Telugu roots alive.

Laya, who is settled in Los Angeles with her family, revealed that her in-laws live in Columbus, Ohio. Despite the distance, she said the families make it a point to meet at least once or twice a year.

“We live far apart. It takes around five and a half hours by flight to reach them, and there’s also a three-hour time difference. Even so, we make sure to spend quality time together whenever possible,” she shared.

Speaking about her children, Laya said they can read and write Telugu and are even familiar with Telugu poems. However, they hesitate to speak the language because they worry about making mistakes.

“They understand Telugu very well. They can read, write, and recite poems, but they’re a little conscious about speaking it. I don’t force them because I believe they’ll become more confident with time,” she explained.

Laya also shared an emotional childhood memory about growing up as an only child. She admitted that she often wished she had an elder brother after seeing her friends with their siblings.

“There were times when I wished I had an elder brother. I wanted that sense of security where I could say, ‘My brother is there for me,'” she recalled.

Although she never had siblings of her own, Laya said watching her two children share a close bond brings her immense happiness. She added that while her friends’ brothers always treated her with affection, she felt that the bond between siblings is truly unique.

Fans have praised Laya for ensuring that her children stay connected to their Telugu language and culture despite growing up in the United States. Her heartfelt memories about wishing for an elder brother have also resonated with many, drawing warm reactions across social media.
