Senior Malayalam actor Indrans is winning praise for his performance in Karuppu, the latest film starring Suriya and directed by RJ Balaji. As the film continues to receive a positive response from audiences, the veteran actor recently shared several interesting insights about his career and experiences working with some of South India’s biggest names.

During a recent interview, Indrans fondly recalled his time working with Tamil superstar Vijay. While many may view Karuppu as his biggest Tamil project, the actor had previously appeared alongside Vijay in Nanban. Looking back on that experience, he described it as one of the most memorable moments of his career.

Indrans revealed that acting with Vijay had long been a personal dream. He said the size of the role never mattered to him, as he simply wanted the opportunity to share screen space with the star. According to him, Vijay is admired by millions of fans, not just in Tamil Nadu but also across Kerala, making the experience even more special.

He recalled playing the role of Govindan in Nanban and said sharing a frame with Vijay and Sathyaraj remains one of his most cherished memories. The actor also praised Vijay’s immense popularity and influence among audiences across South India.

Speaking about director Shankar, Indrans said he had always wanted to be part of one of the filmmaker’s projects. He revealed that Shankar had appreciated his acting skills even during the period when he was primarily known for comedy roles, something he considers a proud moment in his career.

The actor also spoke about his role in Karuppu, where he plays Mattancherry Sukumaran, a poor father from Kerala. The character travels to Chennai seeking a liver transplant for his ailing daughter. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when the gold he brings to fund the treatment is stolen. The story then follows his struggle through a corrupt system while trying to save his child.

Indrans admitted that he initially felt nervous about acting alongside Suriya. He explained that working in a different language always brings some anxiety, and sharing screen space with a star of Suriya’s stature added to the pressure. However, he felt comfortable once he learned that his character was written as a Malayali, which helped him connect naturally with the role.

With Karuppu earning appreciation and his performance receiving praise, Indrans has once again demonstrated why he remains one of the most respected and versatile actors in South Indian cinema. His reflections on Vijay, Shankar, and Suriya have also struck a chord with fans, making his interview a talking point on social media.
