Sara Tendulkar Slams Body-Shaming Trolls

Social media trolling and body-shaming of celebrities is not a new phenomenon. However, in recent times, several public figures have begun breaking their silence and responding directly to such abuse. The latest to join that list is Sara Tendulkar, whose strong reaction to an offensive social media post has sparked widespread discussion online.
A recently uploaded Instagram video page showed Sara Tendulkar stepping out with her sister-in-law. However, the caption accompanying the video included a derogatory body-shaming remark, which quickly triggered controversy.
Angered by the post, Sara shared a screenshot of it on her Instagram story and strongly criticised the page, stating that such behaviour is not journalism. She urged people to respect personal boundaries and asked to be left alone, expressing her frustration over the growing trend of targeting celebrities for engagement and views.
The post went viral shortly after her response, leading the social media page to delete the original content. However, Sara followed up with another story, tagging the page again and stating that deleting the post does not change the mindset behind such harmful behaviour.
Her reaction has received strong support from netizens, many of whom condemned body-shaming and online harassment, especially against women. Social media users emphasised that personal attacks cannot be justified under the guise of content creation or journalism.
Sara Tendulkar had recently been in the spotlight for sharing family moments from her brother Arjun Tendulkar’s wedding celebrations. Some online pages had been using these personal family visuals to make inappropriate comments, which further intensified criticism of such online behaviour.
The incident has once again sparked a larger debate on social media ethics, privacy, and the growing issue of body-shaming in the digital age, with many calling for stricter accountability for online harassment.
