Peddi Faces Ticket Hike Hurdles in Telangana, Premiere Plans in Doubt

The latest buzz around Peddi suggests the film may face hurdles in securing ticket price hikes and premiere permissions in Telangana. After the state government reportedly rejected the producer’s requests twice, the matter was taken to the High Court, which also declined to intervene.

Now, the makers are left with limited options—either approach the Supreme Court or settle for a compromise. If a compromise is reached, the film will likely release with regular ticket prices in Telangana.

In contrast, the Andhra Pradesh government has already issued a GO permitting ticket hikes and premieres, creating a situation where the two Telugu states may follow different pricing structures for the same film.

Given the uncertainty, the producer is considering holding just two premiere shows on June 3rd with standard pricing. While this may slightly impact early revenue, the team is optimistic that strong word-of-mouth and wide release will drive audience turnout.

Interestingly, this marks a rare experiment for an A-list star film releasing at regular prices. While War 2 and Ustaad Bhagat Singh also released with normal ticket rates, they didn’t have enough buzz to measure audience impact effectively. Peddi, however, carries much higher expectations.

If the film receives positive talk, it could become a key case study on whether lower ticket prices actually boost footfalls—potentially influencing future pricing strategies in the industry.
