Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has officially put an end to the speculation surrounding the future of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Addressing the media at a recent press meet, the filmmaker confirmed that the LCU is very much alive and that its much-awaited projects — Kaithi 2, Vikram 2, and Rolex — remain firmly in his roadmap.

Before returning to the LCU, however, Lokesh will be concentrating on his next ambitious venture with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled #AA23. The project has already generated tremendous buzz, with the recently unveiled theme track receiving an overwhelming response from fans and movie lovers alike.

The director has reportedly completed a test shoot with Allu Arjun, while the principal photography is scheduled to commence in August. If reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to officially launch the project with a special making-of video featuring glimpses from the test shoot. An official announcement is expected soon.

As for the LCU, Rolex, headlined by Suriya, is being developed as a standalone film that will further expand the cinematic universe. Vikram 2 will see Kamal Haasan and Fahadh Faasil reprising their pivotal roles, with Lokesh also introducing a brand-new character that is expected to add another exciting dimension to the franchise.

With both #AA23 and the future LCU films progressing steadily, Lokesh Kanagaraj has reassured fans that his cinematic universe is far from over and that several exciting chapters are yet to unfold.
