'Aiyoh', Now A Part of Oxford Dictionary

‘Aiyoh’ is a word that is predominantly used by the South Indians to express varied range of emotions. A day doesn’t go for most people without using this word at least once.

This quintessential word has now got the distinction of becoming one of the very few desi words that have made it to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), which is popularly called ‘Bible of English’.

As per the Oxford dictionary, ‘Aiyoh’ is used to express happiness, surprise, grief, pain, sadness, awe etc.
